The French manufacture of Aubusson is famous for the production of wall tapestries and for weaving beautiful rugs. This piece is typical of the Napoleon III era: the decorative structure is characterized by a large border decorated like stuccoes in Parisian mansions, the central motif is a triumph of flowers. The main colors, coral red and parchment beige, are colors that are often found in late 19th century French-style tapestries.
