SULTANABAD

Ancient Persian Sultanabad carpet made in the Hamadan region. The main shipbuilding of these carpets lies in the sumptuousness of the design. Often of great dimensions they have a great medallion that sweeps on a united bottom, normally of red colour, much more rarely, as in our specimen with pale background. The soft wool and bright colors make this carpet one of the most elegant of the Persian production and for this purpose intended to decorate the most prestigious residences.
