From Venetian origins to the heart of Florence: a tradition woven over time

Our history

The history of Galleria Boralevi dates back to 1930 in Venice, where Tina Boralevi
Gruenberg — a refined antiquarian and expert in art textiles — founded the first nucleus of
the family business. Her cultivated eye and passion for textile craftsmanship gave rise to a
gallery dedicated to ancient beauty, interwoven with knowledge and memory.

In the post-war period, the story took a decisive turn: Bruno Boralevi, Tina’s son, moved the
gallery to Florence, the city of art par excellence, and began a new phase specializing in
antique rugs. With philological rigor, refined taste, and entrepreneurial spirit, Bruno built
an international reputation, placing Boralevi among the leaders of the European Oriental
carpet market. His field research, relationships with major collectors and museums, and presence at the most important fairs make the gallery an authoritative and respected reference point.

Today, it is Daniele Boralevi, third generation, along with his wife Barbara Schweitzer who leads the gallery with a contemporary vision. Building on the family legacy, Daniele has opened new paths, engaging with architects, interior designers, and private clients in Italy and abroad. The collection has expanded with design carpets and custom projects, always maintaining rigor in selection and artisanal care. Alongside the antique and collectible pieces, today Boralevi Florence offers customized carpets, designed to meet the aesthetic and functional needs of contemporary spaces.

For almost a century, Boralevi has combined expertise and passion, offering each client a tailored experience. Not only in the choice of carpet, but also in its preservation, restoration, and enhancement over time. Every intervention, every piece of advice, every selection is the result of a long family tradition that looks to the future with the same love with which it all began.
