Hand-knotted carpet with senneh knots on an antique vertical loom. Knot density: 180,000 per square meter. Taken from the 1925 design, it was made in 1971 in two copies in Elio Palmisano’s Textile Art Atelier. Elio Palmisano’s atelier represents one of the few Italian companies (if not the only one) to have created a large number of tapestries and carpets during the second half of the twentieth century, in synergy with contemporary artists.
