The Karabaghs, carpets produced in the region of the same name, are affected by Persian influence. Iconographically there are motifs dear to the Armenians: crosses, animal vortices and plant motifs.Our rug has a very particular composition, but common in this typology, in fact the design has a horizontal reading, despite the rug is woven vertically. In particular, the two initials M C and the subject so romantic, suggest that it was made for a particular occasion as a wedding.
