There is a popular Uzbek saying: “The house begins where a carpet spreads”. The carpet in Uzbekistan is a symbol of the wealth and prosperity of a family and, therefore, is always included in the gifts given to young people at their wedding.
This rug belongs to a rare type of tribal rug with a brown field with two rows of octagons that immediately bring to mind the Gul typical of Turkmen rugs.
