Walter Nichols’ carpets have earned a reputation for their decadent, suave take on Chinese rugs. In his carpets from the 1920’s the traditional nuanced blue becomes a deep lapis, red transforms into dense vermillion. This particular piece draws from the distinctive taste of Cina Decò for color and texture, and adds a bubbly floral motif in antique lilac, orange and all shades of plush greens.
