The embroidery is called “small stitch” when it is executed on a single-stranded canvas and thrown on top of a single weft thread and a warp of the fabric. This technique is suitable for covering very extensive fabric traits and intended especially for furnishing accessories such as carpets and upholstery elements. The realization of carpets requires the use of a strong cloth in wool or cotton, suitable yarns for strength and diameter and, for extended sheets, also of large looms.
