The carpet, like other artistic artifacts of Moghūl’s India, reflects the components of that original fusion that arose from the complex cultural encounter between the Indian and Muslim worlds. The dominant colours are blue, dark red and ivory. Very rare in the carpets of Agra is the geometric design in the style of our carpet, a design that has a clear derivation from the motifs of Turkmen carpets.
