Meymaneh is the capital city of the Faryab region. Kilims from this area can easily be recognized for their fierce, brilliant chromatic palettes, often obtained from natural tinctures, known as “colours of wood”: reds, blues, oranges, yellows and different shades of rust. Crafted from sheep wool, the borders of this sprawling rug have been adorned with geometric figures ranging from triangles to diamonds.
