The flowery decoration of our carpet has elements such as pomegranate and lotus flowers that are symbols suggested by the Taoist tradition. In China it is customary to pay homage to spouses with pomegranate, a symbol of wealth and fertility, to propitiate their descent. The lotus flower is highly valued in China and considered a symbol of purity, nobility and virtue.
